Marlengo/Marling is situated on a glacial moraine west of Merano/Meran, the famous spa town on the Passer river. Surrounded by vineyards and orchards and with numerous hiking trails in the area, Marlengo features breathtaking views of the Merano basin. This unique mountain setting includes the Ifinger peak and the Tschögglberg mountain plateau, which gets characteristic red color from the presence of porphyria in the rock.

Waalwege are traditional walking paths that follow historic irrigation channels, built centuries ago to bring water from mountain streams to fields and orchards. Today, these paths are among the most unique hiking experiences in the Merano region. They run mostly flat along the slopes, making them ideal for relaxed walks, families and anyone looking to explore nature without steep climbs.🥾💧

Goaßlschnöllen is a traditional South Tyrolean folk custom where specially made whips create loud, rhythmic cracking sounds. Once used by farmers and shepherds for communication and seasonal rituals, it is now celebrated at village festivals and competitions, where skill, rhythm, and technique are judged.🏔🌳
